Jason Gerlach is a Managing Partner for RYZZ. Gerlach is additionally the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner for RYZZ sub-advisor Sunrise Capital Partners. In his roles, Gerlach determines and drives the overall business strategy and oversees the firm’s day-to-day business operations and activities for both RYZZ and Sunrise. Gerlach also serves on Sunrise’s Management Committee. Previously, Gerlach was an attorney with Hale and Dorr LLP (now WilmerHale) in Boston and later, with Howard Rice Nemerovski Canady Falk & Rabkin (now Arnold & Porter LLP) in San Francisco. Gerlach holds a J.D. cum laude and an M.A. in Public Affairs and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin and a B.A. in Government from Cornell University. Gerlach has completed additional graduate studies in business and finance at The Wharton School, Harvard Business School and Northwestern University. Gerlach co-founded the California Alternative Investments Association (CalALTs) in 2010 and is currently that organization’s President and a member of its Board of Directors.
Jarod Winters is the Chief Compliance Officer for RYZZ. Winters is additionally the Chief Operations and Compliance Officer for Sunrise Capital Partners (Sunrise), the sub-advisor of all of RYZZ’s investment strategies. In his roles with Sunrise and RYZZ, Winters oversees all compliance functions and many aspects of the two firms’ day-to-day business operations. Prior to joining Sunrise in 2015, Winters worked with a variety of financial technology companies focused on portfolio risk, performance reporting, and trading systems. In addition, Winters consulted investment advisors on operational technology and workflow as a Director at Wells Fargo Prime Services in New York. Winters attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned an M.B.A. as well as a B.A. in Humanities.
Chris Stanton is a Partner in RYZZ. Stanton is also the Chief Investment Officer of and a Partner in Sunrise Capital Partners (Sunrise), the sub-advisor of all of RYZZ’s investment strategies. In his roles, Stanton oversees the development, implementation and enhancement of all investment programs for both RYZZ and Sunrise. Previously, Stanton traded extensively in a wide range of global commodity and currency markets as Vice President and Portfolio Manager for Deerhurst Capital Management and as Capital Markets Officer for JP Morgan. In those roles, Stanton managed multi-million-dollar portfolios and conducted all market and risk analysis for those portfolios. Stanton holds a J.D. cum laude from the Northwestern University school of Law, has engaged in graduate studies at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Applied Mathematics from Lehigh University.
Rick Slaughter is a Partner in RYZZ. Slaughter is also a pioneer of the alternative investment industry who, acting on a life-long passion for trading global markets, launched a groundbreaking firm known as Commodity Monitors, Inc. (CMI), a predecessor entity to RYZZ sub-advisor Sunrise Capital Partners (Sunrise), in the mid-1970s after completing his B.S. in Finance at San Diego State University and completing some graduate work in Finance and Systems Management at both San Diego State and the University of Southern California. In the 1990s, Slaughter merged CMI into Sunrise and became a Founding Partner of the firm for which he currently serves as Chief Research Officer and as a member of the firm’s Management Committee. In his roles with RYZZ and Sunrise, Slaughter continues his 40+ year legacy of investment innovation and helps to drive the enhancement of existing trading strategies and the development of new investment concepts.
